Understanding Neuropathic Pain

What is Neuropathic pain? 

Neuropathic pain results from direct damage to any part of the nervous system. These include:

  • Peripheral Nerves
  • The Spinal Cord
  • The Brain

The damage then causes nerves to transmit abnormal signals to the brain, where they are recognised as pain. This pain can be mild or intense and may persist long after the original damage has been repaired.
